Office
software
There
are a number of competitive software packages. They normally include
integrated spreadsheet, word processing, presentation and email handling
facilities.
We would recommend you review
these three listed below, but go for MS Office. This will be the system
that is most familiar to most people, and has less risk of incompatibility.
If you have a number
of users, you will be able to get reduced prices for multi user licences.
MS
Office XP - the latest office package from Microsoft, the market
leaders.
Lotus
Smartsuite - from IBM, similar to Microsoft Office in scope and
power. The software is well supported, but nowhere near as popular.
Sun
StarOffice - almost as powerful, and almost free. But use is not
at all widespread. Launched to break Microsoft grip on the market.
Dont expect to get
useful manuals with any of these. Best to browse the software books
section and read the user recommendations at Amazon.
