Tell
a friend script
To encourage your
users to spread the news of your website you could make use of a "tell
a friend script."
This is simply a
system where you have a prepared message, and invite users to input
their contacts email addresses into an input box, click "send"
and the message is sent. As an example, we have set one up here for
this website, using the "Recommend It" service.
You can get a similar
service from Hitbox .
Note that whilst
using a third party is easy, some people may be disuaded from using
it, as emails are also passed on to the third party.
The concept is solid
though, and at the very least you should seek to encourage users to
pass on your web site address to others. With a little more expense
you can get your programmer to insert a script that does this under
your own branding.
